Application

Mezlocillin sodium is an efficient antibiotic of imidazole penicillin, which is difficult to absorb from the gastrointestinal tract. Its sodium salt is commonly used for parenteral administration. The antibacterial effect of this product is similar to carbenicillin, but its scope of action is wider, and the antibacterial spectrum is also wider than natural penicillin. Mezlocillin is a urea penicillin derivative that is administered parenterally and has a bactericidal effect at high doses. The antibacterial spectrum of mezlocillin is basically the same as that of ampicillin and carbenicillin.
